HH’s 24-HOUR DIGITAL ECONOMY IS THE CHEAPEST & QUICKEST ROUTE TO ZAMBIA’S ECONOMIC RECOVERY-SAYS CLOUD JOBS LTD CHIEF

“Given where the country finds itself economically, leveraging internet technology offers the most potent route to Zambia’s economic recovery” says Mr. Mauden Shula, Executive Chairman for Cloud Jobs Recruiting Agency Ltd. Mr. Shula said this during an interview in which he was unveiling his company’s 1 Million Digital Workers Agenda 2024 (MDW Agenda-2024).

“I believe that many Zambians have heard President Hakainde Hichilema talk about the importance of a 24-hour digital economy, but I don’t think many people have really grasped why the President seems obsessed with this idea. Today, I want to bring this topic down to a level that many people can better understand because on a serious note, the concept of the 24-hour digital economy is the most practical and quickest route to Zambia’s economic recovery.” Mr. Shula said.

“I don’t know how many journalists, later alone, ordinary Zambians, are aware that last year alone, over $5.5 Trillion dollars was generated on the internet! For your information, $5.5 Trillion dollars was bigger than the entire GDP of Africa which stood at just under $3 Trillion in 2022. This $5.5 Trillion was transacted on-line by people buying goods and services globally. FaceBook (Meta) alone generated over $100 billion from advertising revenues online. Amazon sold goods worth over $400 billion using the internet in 2022 and employed over 300,000 people. In short, the digital economy, is a multi-trillion dollar economy and it is about time we had a serious look at it like our President is preaching. As a nation, we need to start having a share of this $5.5 Trillion. for goodness sake, just 0.1% of this $5.5 Trillion can give Zambia $5.5 billion!” Mr. Shula detailed.

Mr. Shula said that his Company, Cloud Jobs Recruiting Agency Ltd has formulated a strategy, to mobilise and on-board Zambians on online work platforms as a way of creating jobs, bringing in forex into Zambia, growing the economy and making the 24/7 Digital economy becomes a reality in Zambia” Mr. Shula said
